Welcome to VOX!
Vox means “voice” in Latin — a fitting name for our mission: helping people with Parkinson Disease strengthen diminished vocal volume and communication through LSVT™ LOUD, an evidence-based speech therapy program provided virtually through a secure Zoom platform.
LSVT™ LOUD is considered the gold standard treatment for reduced vocal loudness in Parkinson Disease. Because the program is intensive — four one-hour sessions per week for four consecutive weeks with a speech-language pathologist certified in the program — frequent travel to a clinic can create a significant logistical burden for many people and be entirely impractical for others.
Research has demonstrated outcomes comparable to in-person treatment when LSVT™ LOUD is delivered virtually. We are pleased to offer the convenience of this format for individuals who are working, experience transportation challenges, or simply prefer to receive high-quality treatment from home.
VOX is led by Laura Martin, an LSVT™ LOUD-certified clinician since 2008 and a speech-language pathologist for over 17 years. Learn more about her here, and more about LSVT™ e-LOUD through Vox Lexington here (or, by using the “LSVT™ LOUD “Voice Treatment” tab at the top banner, which will take you to the same page).
